Amour Petite Rattery

Leaving foot prints on your heart!

Amour Petite Rattery was started on October 20th, 2005 and currently consists of 14 happy rats. The rats at Amour Petite Rattery are always thought of as pets before breeders and are cared for with a great amount of love.

For bedding, carefresh (regular and ultra) is used and it is requested that new adopters do not use either cedar or pine as both of those beddings can be harmful for your rats. They can cause respiratory problems as well as lung and liver damage.

Rats are very social animals and will always be adopted out in same sex pairs, unless there are more rats at home.

The Rattery

In the Ladies' Cage we have: Clemmentine, Faile, Selene, Nink, Boo, Elayne, Tayla and Guinevere. They live comfortably in a powdercoated Martin's R-695 (skyscraper).

Beneath the ladies is the Gentleman's Cage, which is also a powdercoated Martin's R-695. Living happily inside are: Gavin, Howl, Perrin, Daerven, Lancelot and Arthur.

About the Breeder

((I realise the photo is somewhat ironic on a rattery website, but Daniel and I are animals lovers and were checking out the snakes at the county fair!))

My name is Briana Hammons and I am 19 years old. I am a fairly new breeder (having bred for a few years now), though I have many of the same desires and goals as some of the older breeders. I will only breed healthy rats with great temperments and strive for my rats to be beautiful both inside and out.

Recently my boyfriend, Daniel, has developed a similar love for both rats and genetics and has agreed to help me out with my rattery. He hopes to bring in blues and fawns into the rattery, but at a later time.

Currently I am specialising in black eyed siamese and burmese in dumbo ears. I also plan to introduce both rex and dwarf into my lines.

I began breeding when I was very young, though now I feel I am truly responsible enough to care for an entire rattery since I have gained better knowledge in both rats, as well as breeding. My first rat was when I was 7, but it was only until I was 9 and purchased a young female brown agouti from a petshop that I really fell in love. Peper was a beautiful young rat and lived an incredible 3 1/2-4 years. I remember how close of a bond I developed with her and hope to breed the same wonderful personlaties into my own rats.
